About MHV
MHV was founded by Maarten Verkou in 2021, after a series of events leading from his passion for motorsports. Out of own interest, Maarten used his 10 years of hobbying experience with 3D modelling software to create an animation of Romain Grosjean’s fiery Bahrain Grand Prix crash within days after that Formula 1 race at the end of November 2020. He launched a new YouTube channel by the name of “Crashalong” and uploaded the video with the detailed 3D reconstruction of the accident. The video was an instant hit among fellow motorsport fans and soon the more videos followed.
Mission
The aim is to let technical photorealistic animations be more widespread used by creating affordable custom animations in short production times. In particular, this helps to show alternative angles of previously hidden parts of a real-life event. The expertise of MHV is now in motorsport accidents, but the methodology can be applied to reconstruct all kind of events.
Vision
In the near future, realistic computer graphic visualisations and animations will be the main form of information transfer on all levels. High & low quality, simplified & complex, cheap and expensive. With the increasing development of Virtual Reality comes the opportunity to experience the 3D scene from within, instead of being bound to existing camera point-of-views.
