Four steps towards a photorealistic 3D Crash animation

01.

Detailed 3D modelling

To start, every relevant object has to be modelled in a 3D environment. But also the lighting and camera setup needs to be considered.

02.

Precise animations

Some parts have predefined movements, due to human inputs or other externalities. This has to be translated exactly to the objects in the 3D scene.

03.

Realistic simulations

For the physics of loose parts or effects, simulations with minimal timestep and optimized iterations need to be performed. This includes soft-body deformations, force fields and fluid dynamics.

04.

high quality renders

For every frame, the intensity of all light rays has to be calculated to get a stunning looking video.
